If you are using the Student Edition of MINITAB this dataset is too large. Simply eliminate parts that you don't need.
Problem 1: What was the total population of the 50 states plus DC and PR in 2000?
Problem 2: What percentage of the population was female? Round the answer (with MINITAB!) to 2 digits behind the decimal point.
Problem 3: What state had the highest birthrate (percentage of babies born)? What is that birthrate? How does Puerto Rico rank with respect to the birthrate (on a scale from highest to lowest)?
Problem 4: Which state is most similar to Puerto Rico in the population size?
Problem 5: In homework 1 we saw that Puerto Rico had 856 people of 100 years or older, or 0.022 percent. How does PR rank with respect to this percentage (on a scale from highest to lowest)? Which states have the highest and the lowest percentage?
Bonus How does PR Rank internationally as far as the percentage of old people is concerned? Go on the Internet and find some information on this question (not necesserily the percentage of people over 100, but something similar)
